Defence Ministry Demands Multiple Changes In Sidharth Malhotra-Manoj Bajpayee's Aiyaary
In a fresh bout of trouble, Neeraj Pandey's espionage drama, Aiyaary, has been asked to make multiple changes just 5 days before its release. Will the makers be able to do it? Or will they announce a new release date?
It's less than a week remaining for Aiyaary to hit theatres and there is fresh trouble for the makers of the Manoj Bajpayee-Sidharth Malhotra film.
Here's what has happened - Aiyaary failed to receive clearance from the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and was thus referred to the Revising committee. The Revising Committee of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting held a special screening of the film just for the officials from the defence ministry, who after viewing the film, have aajed for numerous changes.
With just days to go before the film hits theatres, it will surely be a tough time for the makers to incorporate these changes.
“The defence ministry officials watched Aiyaary Saturday afternoon. Multiple scenes have been a point of debate and the film team has been asked to modify the objectionable parts. The body, however, is tight-lipped about the content of these scenes,” a leading daily reports.
The sad part is that Aiyaary has once already postponed the release of the film from January 26 to February 9 in order to give Padmaavat a clean window. Aiyaary was now supposed to clash with Akshay Kumar's PadMan, but then it might again get postponed.
Asked if these things will affect the way films are made and released, Sidharth told a section of the media, “Our producers are tackling it. It’s in the process. Each film has its own reasons. We have seen what happened with that film (Padmaavat).”
Let's wait and watch what happens on Aiyaary next.
